At the beginning, I just tended to buy something in order to meet the requirement of getting rid of the annual fee of my new gold credit card. But I'm kinda out of control once I have the reason to spend. You know, my laptop's hard drive got some bad sectors, it's extremely unreliable and breaking down frequently. I need a drive to backup my stuff. Considering that 2k for the replacement is so expensive, I bought this LaCie drive with 4 times larger capacity for half expense. Where did I spend the rest of money? Animation. I ordered it from Taiwan online store, the parcel will be on my hand tomorrow (I can track it via HK post website). p.s. I had no idea how to pick a hard drive. So, I bought the same LACIE 160GB USB 2.0 HDD <http://www.kansir.com/wordpress/?p=102> in the same store the same day I had my interview at BU, but paid 20 dollars less. ha ha... At first, I was kinda worried about the quality of LaCie <http://www.lacie.com/>, because I heard it was acquired by the storage manufacturer Quantum, and Quantum owned Maxtor until it was bought by Seagate <http://www.seagate.com/> in December 2005. Everyone knows Seagate's drive is very reliable, Maxtor's are also renowned. I was afraid Quantum might not use it's competitor's drives and ordered from Hitachi (IBM) or other smaller manufactures. As I've heard lots of bad comments from IBM hard disk users, I was scared. Luckily, I'm very pleased it uses Seagate's Barracuda 7200 line product. p.s.2 The license of two animations I love, "Patlabor" (機動警察) and "You're under arrest" (逮捕令/皇家雙妹嘜), are owned by 普威爾國際股份有限公司 <http://www.prowaremedia.com.tw/> in Taiwan.
